This portal has been created to make your arrival in Sweden easier. The site is intended to give you answers about Swedish society and which authorities you will come into contact with during your first stay in Sweden. You can follow the process step by step, from getting your residence permit to the time you establish yourself on the labour market or in education. This portal has been built with the help of other newly arrived people. Thanks to their help, you can read about things that may be difficult to find out yourself, or things that you did not even realise you needed to know.
Project Goal
The difficulties have been about a changing world and to have a permanent administration for the portal. The goal is to give newcomers in Sweden correct community information.
How it works
The main principle is to provide basic information on all relevant topics for new arrivals. Then there are links to relevant websites. In this way, the information shall be current and updated. The development work was designed with reference groups among newcomers from different backgrounds, ages and residence times in Sweden.
Results
A web portal has been created for newly arrived refugees, unaccompanied children and all others who would like information about Sweden and how things work and where to turn on different issues. The web portal is entirely translated into nine languages (Arabic, English, Dari, French, Persian, Russian, Somali, Spanish, Tigrinya). Learning Guides for civic orientation for newcomers (The Book of Sweden) are freely available in eleven languages (Arabic, English, French, Persian, Russian, Somali, Sorani, Spanish, Swedish, Thai, Tigrinya).
Evaluation
Evaluations were made and resulted in the project being made permanent.
Who benefits
Newly arrived migrants are the main objective of this project, but also government officials and the civil sector working on integration issues have access to quality information through informationsverige.se on the most important topics and issues related to life in Sweden.
Funding and resources
State funds - special funds from the Government for the development of two functions (information on housing and civil-sector efforts for new arrivals).
