Call for papers: III Congress of the National Network in Cultural Studies

The III Congress of the National Network in Cultural Studies (RNEC), organised by the Centre for Intercultural Studies (CEI) of the Polytechnic of Porto, will take place on 11 - 12 July 2024 at the Instituto Superior de Contabilidade e Administração do Porto (ISCAP).

The congress will bring together academics, researchers and national and international institutions dedicated to cultural studies, under the event title 'Cultural Studies – Inter-Multi-Trans-Pan-Anti-In-Disciplinary Studies'. Proposals for papers on the following topics will be considered:

•    Culture and Economy
•    Culture and Innovation
•    Culture and Sustainability
•    Minority and Majority Cultures
•    Decolonization and Cultural Studies / Decolonise Cultural Studies
•    Cultural Studies as Indiscipline / In-Discipline
•    Cultural Studies and Education
•    Cultural Studies and Resistance
•    Inter-Cultural Studies / Inter-Cultural Studies
•    Multi-Cultural Studies / Multi-Cultural Studies
•    Feminisms and Cultural Studies
•    Gender, Performance and Cultural Studies
•    Globalisation and Identities
•    Cultural Industries and Mass Culture
•    Migrations, Diaspora and Discrimination
•    Leisure, Tourism and Cultural Studies
•    The Legacy of the Birmingham CCCS
•    Pan-Cultural Studies / Pan-Cultural Studies
•    Trans-Cultural Studies / Trans-Cultural Studies

Eligible proposals will be written in Portuguese or English, and authored by researchers, teachers and students actively involved in Cultural Studies. They must be 3 000 - 4 000 characters long including spaces, keywords and references (final completed articles will be no longer than 20 000 - 25 000 characters), and should be submitted to congressornec.2024@gmail.com by 12 April. Proposal approvals will then be communicated on 24 April.

Important dates:
After notification of proposal approval, the deadline for payment for registration is 15 May.
The deadline for completion of accepted articles is 30 September, and communication of approval of these will occur on 30 October.
