The webinar will focus on regional experiences in the design and implementation of migration and integration policies in Poland. Representatives of regional-level institutions and civil society organisations, as well as migration scholars, will participate in the discussion.

For at least a decade Poland has been experiencing a large influx of migrants, both voluntary and forced. At first most settled in large cities, but in recent times smaller towns and rural areas are increasingly seeing new arrivals, leading to greater need to coordinate reception and integration activities at the regional (voivodeship) level. Some regional institutions have therefore developed strategies for integration activities and set up separate agendas to promote intercultural dialogue, while others are responding to relevant challenges in a more ad hoc manner. These different approaches will be discussed during the webinar.

Webinar speakers will include:

• Anna Dąbrowska, president of the Homo Faber Association and co-chair of the Migration Consortium;
• Grzegorz Grygiel, director of the Regional Centre for Social Policy in Poznań;
• Jarosław Kostrzewa, manager of the strategic planning team in the Department of Regional Development in the Marshal's Office of the Małopolska Region;
• Dr Maria Mazur, Plenipotentiary of the Lublin Voivode for Migration and Integration Processes;
• Agnieszka Zabłocka, deputy director of the Regional Centre for Social Policy in Gdańsk.

The webinar is organised by the Migration Policies of Cities and Regions Laboratory at the Centre of Migration Research, University of Warsaw, as part of the 'CMR Webinars: Migration and Cities' series, in cooperation with the Union of Polish Metropolises.
