
The General Inspectorate for Immigration (GII) in Romania launched a new AMIF funding call promoting the provision of comprehensive assistance to asylum seekers during the refugee status determination procedure.
The objective of the call is to ensure adequate reception conditions for asylum seekers and to provide appropriate assistance to vulnerable cases from an early stage. The funding being made available will support the provision of in-kind, health, and social assistance, psychological support and legal counselling, vocational and language training, cultural orientation and educational activities, support for employment, and interpretation. These activities will take place in the 6 GII reception centres across the country and in local communities.
Eligible applicants are public institutions, NGOs, authorised educational and research units legally established in Romania, and international organisations. Eligible projects will not exceed 24 months.
The funding available under this call is RON 4 750 000 (approximately 954 553 EUR). The co-financing rate is a minimum of 2% of the total eligible cost of the project.
Funding proposals must be submitted online via the ROFED platform by 20 January 2025, 16.00 (EET). Further information on the call is available here.
