The Bulgarian Council on Refugees and Migrants published a collection of good practices in refugee integration that are focused on fruitful and impactful cooperation between different stakeholders. The practices come from various EU countries and have been published in the EWSI archive of good integration practices.
The practices cover various aspects of refugee integration such as:
- awareness-raising for the benefits of diversity (Spain);
- awareness-raising and communication for local authorities (Italy);
- labour integration of vulnerable groups during the COVID-19 pandemic (Spain);
- cultural integration (Portugal);
- social inclusion through cultural activities (Portugal);
- social inclusion through community development (Spain);
- civil society development for increase refugee integration (Germany);
- supporting volunteerism for refugee integration (Austria);
- 'I Belong' programme for long-term permit preparation (Malta).
The collection includes projects and initiatives that have proven successful, sustainable and could be replicated, and are beneficial for both refugees and the local population. It is intended to inspire various stakeholders when designing their activities or applying for European funds, at both the national and European levels. The publication also aims to promote the exchange of knowledge and ideas for cooperation and partnership promoting the integration of refugees between all stakeholders, including experts, practitioners and beneficiaries.
