Consultation and Information Centre PLUS

Consultation and information centre PLUS is a centre, created for third country nationals in order to facilitate the integration processes into Lithuanian society by providing better access to information, social, psychological and legal consultations. Foreigners can get individual, group, online consultations free of charge from social workers, lawyesr, psychologists, consultants and specialists on migration issues, the Lithuanian culture, history and language. Consultation and information centre PLUS website was created, where the most relevant information for migrants from third countries was presented. Information includes such topics as recent developments in Lithuanian migration and integration policies, social services, daily life issues, culture and entertainment. Nine issues of newspaper ‘Centre PLUS news’ were prepared and released with the most relevant information for migrants.

Project Goal

The challenges faced by immigrants arriving in Lithuania has led to the search for responses in order to ensure their rights. Consequently, the project ‘Consultation and information centre PLUS’ received funding for continuation of successful activities in Vilnius. The goal was to ensure access to information as well as social, legal and psychological consultations for third country nationals, by using one-stop-shop strategy.

How it works

In ‘Consultation and information centre PLUS’ foreigners from non-EU countries can get individual or group consultations from lawyers, social workers, psychologists, migration experts, specialists on Lithuanian culture, history and language. All services provided in the Centre are free of charge. Also, a library was opened where foreigners can find books about Lithuania and Lithuanian language. During the project, nine issues of a newspaper ‘Centre PLUS news’ were prepared and released, where migrants could find all relevant information. It was spread in www.centreplus.org website, local Migration Offices and different public institutions. The new website was created, where foreigners can find necessary information. Services are provided in English and Russian languages. Lithuanian language courses are organised for Russian and English speakers. In parallel to direct work with third country nationals, consultations are provided via e-mail and Skype. Also, foreigners can use computers for their own needs.
