Unemployment decreases among both Swedish and foreign born people in Sweden

According to new data published by Statistics Sweden, the country's unemployment rate is currently 7.5%. 

In the fourth quarter of 2021, the relative unemployment rate was 3.4% among native Swedes aged 20–64 years. For Swedish native women, it was 3.0%, and for Swedish native men it was 3.7%. The unemployment rate was found to be significantly higher among foreign born individuals, at 16.2% (18.4% among immigrant women and 14.2% among immigrant men). Overall, the unemployment rate decreased for both Swedish native and foreign born people.

This pattern corresponds with Sweden's employment rate. Employment was found to be higher among the Swedish born (83.2% for women; 86.9% for men) than among the foreign born, for whom the overall employment rate was 70.2% (specifically, 63.9% among foreign born women and 76.4% among foreign born men). The employment rate was found to have increased for both Swedish native and foreign born people.
