There are now more women leaving exclusion behind and integrating in the working world. The UGT (General Workers Union) in Girona and the AMIC service dedicated especially to immigrants, announced that last year for the first time, they received more requests for aid from women (51%) than men (49%). Women have found their own channels of integration says Dolors Bassa, general secretary of the UGT in Girona. She did recognise however, that the crisis has forced many immigrant women to look for work.
