
An amendment to Act No 404/2011 on Residence of Aliens, which has been effective since 1st January 2012, is currently in the process of being adopted. The amendment should come into force from 1st May 2013.
Proposed changes would focus on:
- Granting and renewing temporary stay of residence of foreigners with business purpose
- Temporary stays of residence for Slovaks living abroad
- Extention of foreigners who might apply for a stay of residence in Slovakia
- Issuing documents related to a stay of residence
- Assisted voluntary returns
- Possibility to get long-term stay for beneficiaries of international protection
