Netherlands: Turkish-Dutch youngsters in distress?

In January 2011, several Turkish-Dutch wrote a letter to both the daily journal the Volkskrant and Republic Allochtonië. They issued a warning on the bleak future of Turkish-Dutch youngsters. They evoked school-dropout and high unemployment rates, the lack of well-being, the lack of connection to the Dutch society and emotional distress. The core message was that the government should not turn a blind eye on this specific group of youngsters and should invest in dedicated facilities.
