Multilingual COVID-19 hotline for the elderly in the Netherlands addresses health questions and isolation

Following the Dutch government’s decision, in response to COVID-19, requiring people to stay at home under most circumstances, it became evident that the elderly are most at risk of both suffering consequences from the virus and of isolation and loneliness.

In response, the organisations KBO-PCOB and NOOM have set up an information line for the elderly. Through this phone line, elderly people can ask questions about the virus or just have a conversation with someone during this time of confinement.

The phone line also supports older migrants who want to speak in one of the following languages or wants to speak with someone with a certain cultural background: Caribbean, Chinese, Italian, Cape Verdean, Moroccan, Moluccan, Spanish, Surinamese or Turkish.
