What Remains of the National Models of Integration? Ideal-typical constructions and social realities of immigrant incorporation in Europe

Untitled

This Special Issue of Identitities: Global Studies in Culture and Power focus entirely on the integration of immigrants. It starts with an article where Dietmar Loch questions the validity of national integration models in Europe and is followed by a work of Michel Wieviorka which examines critically the concept of "integration". The remaining articles deal with integration models characteristic of a number of European countries, including France, UK, Germany, Netherlands, Sweden, Italy and the Czech Republic.
