Increasing the role of NGOs in the social integration of labour migrants in the Czech Republic

The project aims to eliminate problems related to social integration of foreigners from third countries who lawfully reside in the Czech Republic and are or will be active in the legal labour market.

Project Goal

Migrants from third world countries have to overcome specific barriers to integration. Due to weak knowledge of the language and different socio-cultural environment, difficulties in communication with government bodies often occur. One solution to these difficulties is strengthening the role of NGOs and facilitating cooperation with labour offices, which can greatly facilitate the process of social integration of migrants in terms of their access to the labour market.

Who benefits

Third country nationals living in the Czech Republic. Labour offices, general public

How it works

Individuals work with foreigners. Professional legal services help eliminate many challenges to integrating migrants into society. Qualified counselling services help prevent possible discrimination against and social exculsion of foreigners. Theoretical output in the form of publications and comparative examples of good practice can then be used by all target groups of the project, i.e. other NGOs as well as labour offices. Through seminars and round table discussions, based on the experience of international partners, the project will bring new knowledge from abroad into the Czech environment. There will also be an informative campaign to support domestic workers and to inform the general public and a documentary movie about labour migrants will be produced.
