Poland: Access to free legal aid for foreigners has been put into question

Untitled

The Association for Legal Intervention together with the Helsinki Foundation for Human Rights, the Polish Humanitarian Action and the Halina Niec Human Rights Association send a letter to Mr Piotr StachaDczyk, a Secretary of State in the Ministry of Interior in which they asked for information on funding for legal aid for migrants.

Three funds from which  legal aid for foreigners is currently being financed (the European Fund for Integration of Third Country Nationals, the European Refugee Fund, the European Return Fund) are going to be replaced by the Asylum, Migration and Integration Fund (AMIF). Unfortunately, until now the date of announcing and start of the call for proposals for AMIF is unknow. This can result in a situation in which foreigners will be deprived of access to legal aid.
