The Danish Agency for International Recruitment and Integration (SIRI) announced a call for funding open to civil society organisations and voluntary associations with experience in establishing links between volunteers and refugees.
The funds amount to 8 million DKK and are available for civil society initiatives involving recipients of international protection, family reunification beneficiaries, as well as people with temporary protection status who fled the war against Ukraine. The funds are specifically set aside for efforts to support and motivate refugees to participate in activities that help create safe and stable communities. The call also requires that initiatives focus on language training and on supporting individuals in relation to entering education or getting a job.
Examples of initiatives strengthening the sense of community among volunteers and refugees include, for example, sports activities, youth-to-youth initiatives, volunteers helping include refugees in different social activities and associations, and more.
The funds will be distributed through a single application round in 2024, and actors can apply alone or with partners. The funds can be utilised in the period 2024-2025.
The deadline for applications is 14 February 2024; read more and apply here.
