IOM Global Migration Film Festival

The International Organization for Migration (IOM), in partnership with the International Dialogue Centre (KAICIID) and the United Nations Regional Centre for Western Europe (UNRIC), is organising the 9th edition of the Global Migration Film Festival on 16 January at Cinema São Jorge, Lisbon. 

At 17:00, the IOM Chief of Mission in Portugal, Vasco Malta, will open the ceremony and a panel discussion will begin with the presence of a representative of AIMA, Isabel Silva from NGO MEERU - Association for Development, a person with a refugee background living in Portugal, and Mónica Ferro (Director of the UNFPA Office for Portugal, the United Kingdom, Ireland, Italy and Spain). 

“The Old Oak”, directed by Ken Loach, will be shown at 19:15. The film details the lives of people displaced from Syria living in a mining town in Northern England. It will be played in English with Portuguese subtitles.
