How does it work?

The municipal council and the relevant city councillor for integration provide support for volunteers in different integration-related activities. The municipality makes financial resources available for German language courses. An association will also be given financial support. Six times a year, there is an arrangement for volunteers to meet over coffee and exchange ideas and experiences. It is also possible for asylum-seekers to get to know the volunteers.

 

Results and evaluation

Asylum seekers and those granted asylum learn German, and they are supported by public authorities. Those granted asylum receive assistance in looking for accommodation and jobs.

No evaluation of the municipality’s practices has been carried out.

 

Funding

The municipality allocates € 4,000 per year for integration-promoting measures.
