In 14 cities in Greece, the Hellenic Theatre/Drama & Education Network (TENet-Gr) and UNHCR are organising - for the ninth year running - the 'Together' Student Art Festivals.
The festivals are being organised in collaboration with local and educational authorities, universities, parents’ associations, museums, and other institutions. Running from 5 - 29 May, they will see participation from more than 1 500 students (including refugee children) and 270 teachers across 150 schools. The aim of the initiative is to bring together students, teachers, theatre professionals and parents in non-competitive celebration, to play, talk, and create with each other.
Participating schools are those already taking part in the awareness-raising "It could be me - It could be you” project of TENet-Gr and UNHCR (which targets the educational community at large, focusing on refugees and human rights using experiential learning, theatre and educational drama techniques), as well as schools or youth groups that have implemented similar artistic programmes during this school year.
