Safe Homes: Hosting as an alternative for refugee care

Flag of Hungary

The final event of the Safe Homes research project will take place on 18 January 2024.

In addition to presentation of research results, there will be several panel discussions focusing on current practices in Hungary in relation to the arrival of people displaced from Ukraine, such as those in private housing. Both personal experiences and global perspectives will be shared.

Safe Homes is funded by the European Commission's Asylum, Migration and Integration Fund (AMIF), and its anticipated outcome is the establishment of a replicable model of dignified housing for protection seekers that can be implemented in future emergencies. The project is run by the Red Cross in Belgium, France, Ireland, Hungary, Netherlands, Luxembourg, Poland, Romania and Slovakia.
