Romania: ERASMUS+ project call launched

A national Erasmus+ funding call was launched in Romania, with focus on support for vulnerable groups with limited opportunities such as asylum seekers, refugees, other migrants, and Roma people.

In 2023 the call has 4 national priorities: diversity and inclusion; sustainable development; digital transformation (for youth) and participation in democratic life, common values and civic engagement (for youth). Its two key objectives / actions are as follows:

  1. KA1 - mobility projects: extension and improvement of learning mobilities targeting beginner teachers and students, especially limited opportunity students;
  2. KA2: participation in relevant projects by those with specific needs and limited opportunities, development of social inclusion projects (including for asylum seekers, refugees, and other migrants), involvement of schools, local authorities, NGOs, SMEs, and social enterprises from rural areas, and enhanced sustainability of projects and transferability of results.

The total budget allocated to Romania for 2023 is EUR 116 669 707, across the following programme areas and key actions:

  • School education: mobility projects (Key Action 1) – EUR 15 106 766; co-operation partnerships (Key Action 2) – EUR 3 799 567; small scale partnerships (Key Action 2) – EUR 834 025
  • Higher education: mobility projects (Key Action 1) between Program countries – EUR 41 058 556, mobility projects (Key Action 1) outside Program countries – EUR 8 098 773; co-operation partnerships (Key Action 2) – EUR 4 600 000
  • Vocational education & training: mobility projects (Key Action 1) – EUR 20 227 973; co-operation partnerships (Key Action 2) – EUR 2 836 805; small scale partnerships (Key Action 2) – EUR 794 305
  • Adult education: mobility projects (Key Action 1) – EUR 3 575 486; co-operation partnerships (Key Action 2) – EUR 1 531 868; small scale partnerships (Key Action 2) – EUR 815 394
  • Youth: mobility projects (Key Action 1) – EUR 8 532 280; co-operation partnerships (Key Action 2) – EUR 3 705 791; small scale partnerships (Key Action 2) – EUR 828 301
  • Sport: mobility projects (Key Action 1) – EUR 323 817

The budget allocated to youth is further divided into the following strands:

  • Mobility projects (youth exchanges and mobility of youth workers): EUR 6 906 651
  • Youth participation: EUR 1 333 025
  • DiscoverEU inclusion: EUR 292 604

In order to apply applicants must register with the organisation registration system and generate an OID code. They must then fill out and submit the relevant online application forms. The deadline for applications is 23 February 2023 for most programme areas, with some exceptions. Further details on this can be found here.
