The Terre des hommes Foundation in Hungary (Tdh), as part of its Building Bridges project, developed 4 valuable resources to support refugee families displaced from Ukraine and the professionals working with them. The aim of these materials, available in both Hungarian and Ukrainian, is to ease the integration process for families and strengthen the capacity of specialists assisting refugee children.
For refugee families, 2 essential guides have been created. The School support handbook provides an overview of the Hungarian education system along with fundamental child protection information for parents. Additionally, the Guide to available services offers detailed information on support options in Budapest and online, including extracurricular activities, language courses for children and adults, and mental health services.
Professionals working with refugee families can also benefit from 2 tailored resources. The Guide for school programmes by civil society organisations covers tutoring, integration workshops, and training opportunities for teachers. Meanwhile, the School integration toolkit offers practical tools for primary and secondary schools to better support children affected by migration. These resources aim to foster an inclusive and supportive environment for refugee children in Hungary.
