The BCause Foundation opened a call for proposals from initiatives supporting the adaptation and future independence of young refugees from Ukraine in Bulgaria (aged 16 - 35 years old). The main focus is support for inclusion in the education system, acquisition of a degree for professional qualifications, and job seeking. Initiatives supporting Bulgarian youth are also eligible, if this group represents up to 25% of the total beneficiary group.
Activities may include, but are not limited to
- professional courses
- Bulgarian language courses
- driving lessons
- professional / career counselling
- developing entrepreneurial skills
- psychological support
The proposed activities can be organised at the group or individual level, according to the number, needs and characteristics of the target group. Applicant entities can be the coordinators of such activities themselves or act as a referral point to direct young people to activities organised by other institutions.
NGOs with previous experience in this area, as well as knowledge of the situation for refugees from Ukraine in Bulgaria, are eligible to apply.
The maximum amount of funding allocated per project will be EUR 5 000. Finance is being given by LIDL Bulgaria, through a contract with the Bulgarian Donors' Forum.
