European Commission launches EU Talent Pool pilot initiative

The European Commission today launched a new online job search tool, the EU Talent Pool pilot initiative, to help those fleeing Russia's invasion of Ukraine with securing employment in the European Union.

The new tool is available in English, Ukrainian and Russian, and accessible via the European Labour Authority's EURES portal. EURES contains information on over 3 million job vacancies and 4 000 employers. After registering, jobseekers can upload their CVs to the online platform and highlight their relevant skills. Their profiles will then be made available to employers, national public employment services and private employment agencies across the EU, and the jobseekers themselves will be able to browse available vacancies.

The swift and effective integration of those from Ukraine into the labour market helps these individuals to more quickly rebuild their lives, and promotes social cohesion within their host communities. Eligible jobseekers are those granted temporary protection under the EU Temporary Protection Directive, or adequate protection under national law providing them the right to work.

The EU Talent Pool is one of the key deliverables of the EU's new pact on migration and asylum, which aims to attract talent to the EU and support integration in local communities.
