Masaryk Democratic Academy in the Czech Republic recently launched a new six month integration course. The course, entitled "Integration: living together. Do we want to live better?", is aimed at a wide audience and will address the integration of foreigners from different perspectives, in six seminars delivered by leading Czech experts. It is being directed by Dušan Drbohlav, supervisor of Global Migration and Development Studies at the Faculty of Science of Charles University in Prague. The course will run from January to June 2022.  

Course programme

29 January 2022: Introduction to integration in destination countries - description of selected concepts, dimensions and measurement of the integration process.

26 February: Foreigners in the Czech Republic and Czechs abroad - research on integration of selected groups.

26 March: Immigration and integration policies of selected countries - general introduction, development over time and current trends.

30 April: Transnationalisation, diasporas and compatriot policies of selected countries - examples of good practice.

28 May: Tools for the implementation of integration measures by local governments and possibilities of cooperation with the non-profit sector.

25 June: Closing roundtable.
