Slovakia: 6.9 million € for Non-governmental Organisations in Slovakia

Title

On 25th February 2013, the Open Society Institute in Slovakia (NOS-OSF) and the consortium Ekopolis Foundation, Socia Foundation and Children of Slovakia Foundation presented the Fund for non-governmental organisations in Bratislava. The first call for proposals which might by supported by the fund were also announced. The financial contribution of the fund is 6 903 000 €.

The fund for non-governmental organisations is targeted at the development of civic society, support of social justice, democracy and sustainable development. The fund is a component of the Financial Mechanism European Economic Area 2009 – 2014.

In Slovakia, the fund consists of two main programmes: 'democracy and human rights' under the responsiblity of the Open Society Institute and 'active citizenship and inclusion' which is administrated by the consortium Ekopolis Foundation, Socia Foundation and Children of Slovakia Foundation.
