
The Czech Ministry of Education, Youth and Sports has opened a grant programme to support the education of foreign children. The total allocation under this grant will be 3 million CZK (approximately 116,000 euros). Applications are due by 20 November 2018 at 14:00.
The goal of the grant programme is to improve the inclusion of foreign children into Czech society, increase the efficacy of Czech language training, eliminate cultural barriers, strengthen the competences of pedagogues, and support cooperation and communication between schools and families. The grant programme is not intended for direct Czech language training.
Supported activities under the grant include:
- Development of educational programmes tailored to individual needs of foreign children
- Development of methodological and teaching materials for pedagogues
- Increasing the success rate of foreign children in pre-school and elementary education
- Out-of-school integration activities (e.g. athletic, cultural, or artistic activities)
- Increasing the competences of pedagogues
- Supporting cooperation between schools and families
