European Parliament Elections 2019 - What are political parties saying about integration?

Title

The European Parliament (EP) elections are now over, and the official results promise a more fragmented and diverse parliamentary make-up. As both the newcomers and the familiar members of the European political parties will strive to ascertain the new dynamics of the EP, the European Web Site on Integration (EWSI) provides a glimpse into how (or if!) the next class of Members of the European Parliament (MEPs) may affect the integration of migrants and refugees.

In this series of articles, EWSI examines how political parties addressed integration issues in their elections programmes by breaking down integration topics into 14 thematic categories and a catch-all “Other” category.

Did the parties focus on specific aspects of integration? Are there differences between Member States in how their parties discuss integration? See the programmes that are likely to inform the elected parties’ stances on integration during the next EP mandate.

See the analysis for each Member State via the links below, then read EWSI’s overall analysis of the elections.

The EP elections took place between May 23 and 26, with thistimeimvoting.eu providing information about voting in the 2019 elections.
