
The Secretary General of the Portuguese Ministry of Internal Administration is now accepting funding applications for initiatives promoting integrated training actions for third-country nationals (TCNs) related to Portuguese language, culture and democracy.
This funding opportunity is made available through the EU’s Asylum, Migration and Integration Fund (AMIF). The total amount available is € 327,984.
The successful actions will focus on:
- Initiation actions for Portuguese language learning to provide TCNs with basic knowledge for their social and professional integration
- Literacy actions that aim to provide TCNs with Portuguese reading and writing skills that contribute to their autonomy as migrant citizens in the host society
- Actions to learn about Portuguese culture and democracy, aimed at familiarising TCNs with the history, culture and democratic practices and norms of the host society
- Non-formal education actions that integrate Portuguese language, culture and democracy
- Socio-cultural itineraries, including visits to landmarks of the host society’s culture and democracy
- Technical-pedagogical resources that can be disseminated about innovative practices in the teaching of Portuguese language, Portuguese culture and democracy to TCNs
Approved projects may benefit from a maximum co-financing rate of 75%. The duration of the projects should not exceed 36 months. Applications must be submitted electronically by 24 April 2020. Application information and instructions are available here.
