A number of actors in migration and integration in Poland are organising a webinar on migrant integration practices in European and North American countries. The webinar will be an opportunity for the exhange of knowledge and lessons learnt in the implementation of integration practices in these countries, offering valuable inspiration for Polish cities facing current migration challenges.
Experts from Germany, the Czech Republic, Italy, Norway and Canada will share a range of policies and programmes designed to meet the needs of migrants in their countries. Speakers will include:
- Professor Magdalena Nowicka, DeZIM German Centre for Integration and Migration Research, Berlin, Germany
- Dr Marie Jelínková, Department of Public and Social Policy, Faculty of Social Sciences, Charles University, Prague, Czechia
- Dr Melissa Moralli, Assistant Professor, Department of Sociology and Business Law, University of Bologna, Italy
- Dr Vilde Hernes, Senior Researcher at the OsloMet, Oslo, Norway
- Professor Jennifer Hyndman, Associate Vice-President for Research & Innovation, York University, Toronto, Canada.
The webinar is being organised by the Laboratory of Urban and Regional Migration Policies and the Migration Policies Research Unit at the Centre of Migration Research of the University of Warsaw, in collaboration with the Migration Academy of the Migration Consortium, the Union of Polish Metropolises, and the Research Committee 46 "Migration and Citizenship" of the International Political Science Association (IPSA).
