
The International Rescue Committee (IRC) is hosting a series of webinars in partnership with the US Mission to the European Union, looking at best practices and experiences from the U.S. and Europe during the COVID-19 pandemic.
Specifically, focus is being placed on countering of the spread of misinformation among refugee and migrant populations during crises. The webinar on 8 June will explore resettlement and integration programme adaptation and resilience during crisis, including:
- how to deliver programme services remotely ensuring the assessment of target population needs;
- the adaptation of programme resources;
- how to address digital literacy;
- leveraging volunteer and mentor support.
This virtual event will feature a panel of speakers from civil society and national government, followed by parallel breakout sessions on how to use programme adaptation and innovation to counter the spread of misinformation in refugee and migrant populations during crises.
Breakout room discussions will highlight the following initiatives:
- Cultural Orientation Resource Exchange (CORE) and Refugee Support Center Latin America (IOM);
- Resettlement Service Delivery in IRC Atlanta;
- A Digital Information Platform presented by Signpost IRC Europe.
