EU Highlights:

  • The European Commission made €32.7 million available to projects relating to integration and complementary pathways for the Asylum Migration and Integration Fund work programme. Proposals can be submitted under six different topics; the deadline for submission is 16 February 2021.
  • The Organisation for Economic Co-operation and Development (OECD) released its International Migration Outlook for 2020, which found that the COVID-19 pandemic puts migration and progress on integration at risk and disproportionately affects migrants and their children.
  • The European Migration Network (EMN) released its third report on the impact of COVID-19. This latest edition explores the effects of COVID-19 on migrant workers involved in the essential sectors in the EU and OECD Member States.

Last month the European Commission launched another public consultation, this time on the future of EU legal migration. Feedback will be accepted until 30 December 2020 and can be submitted in any EU language.
