Latvia: call for projects on exchange of children among Latvian and Russian families

Untitled

The Society Integration Foundation (SIF) has announced a grant application for projects on exchange of children among Latvian and Russian families with the aim to promote integration. The target group to be engaged in these activities is families who communicate either in Latvian or Russian, and who have children going to the secondary school. Within the supported projects families are to exchange their children for a short duration of time.

According to the information published on SIF website, the total amount of finances available for this call is 11 250 LVL (approximately 16 000 Euro), with 4000 LVL (approximately 5500 Euro) as the maximum amount available for one project. Non-governmental organizations registered in Latvia are eligible to apply. A seminar on the details of the call will be held on 21 February.

This is the continuation of an initiative that started in 2012 and was evaluated as successful.

For more information on the call (in Latvian), please see SIF’s website

For information on the first exchanges (in English), please see this EWSI news item.
