A funding call for self-governing entities in Slovakia was announced, entitled Helping people from Ukraine with their entry and integration into the Slovak Republic - Self-Government. The national initiative is implemented by the agency of the Ministry of Labour, Social Affairs and Family of the Slovak Republic, in cooperation with the Office of the Plenipotentiary of the Government of the Slovak Republic for the Development of Civil Society. Its aim is to contribute financially to expenses related to humanitarian and integration activities, which until now have been financed mainly by self-governing entities' own resources.
The initiative - which will last until the end of 2023 - will provide financial support to local governments that ensure and coordinate humanitarian and integration activities for people fleeing the war in Ukraine, including retroactively since February 2022. Eligible activities are those aimed at helping and supporting children and adults displaced from Ukraine in the Slovak Republic.
Eligible actors are municipalities, cities, self-governing regional (higher territorial) units, and legal entities established or founded by them. The total amount of funding available is €12 096 000.
Further information on the call can be found online here.
