Portugal: New funding for projects working with immigrant descendents and ethnic minorities

Portuguese flag

In the scope of the national Programme Choices (Programa Escolhas), a new period for the submission of projects is open between 15th September and 31st October 2014. The main theme of the projects is employability and employment for youngsters residing in neighbourhoods participating in the Choices Programme. The projects can receive up to 20 thousand euros of funding and will have to last one year. The target group of these projects is composed of youngsters coming from vulnerable social and economic contexts, namely immigrant descents and Roma communities, aged between 16 and 30, going through early school dropout, without an occupation or unemployed. The projects should favour social innovation, experimenting, sustainability and authonomy.

The Choices Programme is under the tutelage of the Presidency of the Council of Ministers and integrated in the High Commission for Migrations (ACM, I.P.) with the goal of sponsoring the social inclusion of children and teenagers from immigrant origin and ethnic minorities through equal opportunities and reinforcement of social cohesion.
