On 2 October 2018, the Online Platform for Portuguese, a free tool to learn Portuguese, also became available in Spanish. This platform, created in 2016 with the aim of teaching European Portuguese to adults, aims to develop language skills, socio-cultural knowledge and intercultural awareness.
The site is organised in 24 thematic modules, presented in text, audio, video and image formats. Content is available for two different levels, A and B, based on the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages (CEFR).
This online tool, sponsored by the High Commission for Migration, funded by the European Social Fund and the Operational Programme Social Inclusion and Employment (POISE), was already available in English, Arabic and Portuguese. Anyone can register for lessons regardless of legal status or location.
