Estonia: Funding available for language and culture projects supporting young people displaced from Ukraine

The government in Estonia made funding available for projects providing opportunities for young people displaced from Ukraine, aged 19 and under, to keep in touch with the Ukrainian language and culture.

Activities supported

Support is being granted to projects whose implementation contributes to the achievement of the objectives and results of the call for proposals, and which organise Ukrainian language and culture teaching and/or Ukrainian-language cultural events in cooperation with Ukrainian cultural associations, Estonian NGOs, cultural or memory institutions or libraries, and/or publish Ukrainian-language children's and youth literature.

The following results are expected:

  • Ukrainian language and cultural heritage traditions are alive among the target group
  • the target group maintains a link with the Ukrainian language and culture area
  • community cultural events have been implemented
  • Ukrainian-language children's and youth literature has been published
  • Ukrainian language and culture education is provided for the target group

Requirements for applicants

Applicants should be legal entities registered in the Republic of Estonia or self-employed persons entered into the commercial register.

The total budget of the call is EUR 100 000. A maximum of EUR 15 000 may be requested per application. Each applicant may submit more than one application, and there must be no more than one project included in any application.

The deadline for submissions is 10 March 2025 at 23:59 (CET).

The call is funded by the Ministry of Culture of Estonia.
