Czech Republic: education ministry to provide funding for Czech language courses for those from Ukraine

The Ministry of Education of the Czech Republic, in cooperation with the Fund for Bilateral Relations of the EEA and Norway Grants, announced a call for funding applications for initiatives that provide Czech language courses for students and teachers from Ukraine.

Call objectives:

  • To support current and future students from Ukraine in developing Czech language skills and an understanding of daily life in the Czech Republic
  • To support Ukrainian teachers in learning the Czech language, thereby increasing their ability to navigate the Czech education system and supporting their integration into the Czech labour market

Eligible applicants include public universities providing courses for teaching staff, which already implement an accredited study programme in the field of pedagogical sciences that is focused on the preparation of teachers.

A total amount of CZK 16 995 678 (EUR 680 000) is allocated for eligible projects under this call.

The submission period for applications under this call is 1 September - 11 November 2022.
