In June 2015, a survey carried out by the Public Opinion Research Centre (Institute of Sociology of the Czech Academy of Sciences) focused on public attitudes towards accepting immigrants and refugees and the overall awareness of the current situation.
According to the survey, over 70% of Czech citizens refuse to accept refugees and immigrants from Syria and North Africa. 44% of those surveyed oppose the acceptance of at least some refugees from Ukraine. While two-thirds of the respondents have at least a rough idea about refugee quotas for EU countries, only one fifth of them would agree to implementing the quotas.
