Portuguese flag

The Secretary General of the Portuguese Ministry of Internal Administration is now accepting funding applications for projects contributing to the development of a proactive policy to attract third-country nationals (TCNs) through national, regional or local initiatives. These initiatives should focus on attracting TCNs interested in integrating the Portuguese labour market, as well as developing study, research and entrepreneurship activities in Portugal.

This funding opportunity is made available through the EU’s Asylum, Migration and Integration Fund (AMIF). The total amount available for this call is € 851,023.

The eligible actions will focus on:

  • Development or maintenance of computer platforms (e.g., websites) accessible in several languages, with relevant information for potential migrants, namely: rights and duties, support services and their geographic location, procedures for obtaining a residence permit and family reunification, etc. in order to facilitate future settlement and integration in Portuguese society
  • Creation or maintenance of a back-office service to answer questions from potential TCNs
  • Creation or reinforcement of articulation mechanisms with consulates and public services of the different Ministries with competence in the area
  • Creation of articulation mechanisms between employers / universities and potential migrants
  • Characterisation and identification of the main needs, areas of interest and specificities of each country of origin
  • Registration of information through a detailed compilation on legal migratory flows to Portugal, in the countries of origin, as stated in the National Programme
  • Creation of mechanisms providing multi-channel and integrated responses by the Portuguese civil service sector

Approved projects may benefit from a maximum co-financing rate of 75%. The duration of the projects should not exceed 36 months. The application deadline has been extended to 22 May 2020. Application information and instructions are available here.
