The current Czech migration policy strategy was approved by the government in session on 29 July. The strategy describes the current state of affairs and defines seven elemental principles and goals to be reached both at a national and a European level. National security is defined as a leading element of the document. The seven key principles are the following: the integration of foreigners, irregular immigration and the return policy, international protection (asylum), the external dimension of immigration, free movement inside the Schengen area, legal immigration, and coordination with common European immigration policies.
