Following the Council implementing decision 2022/382, EU Member States enacted legislative measures to activate temporary protection at the national level and provide support to displaced persons fleeing Ukraine.
The European Union Agency for Asylum (EUAA) published an interactive map - last updated in March 2024 - giving an overview of this implementation across EU+ countries. For each country, where possible, the map shares:
- informative tools (including websites, leaflets, helplines, information points);
- the national legal framework for temporary protection;
- definitions of people to whom temporary protection applies;
- the overall structure of temporary protection;
- procedural steps (such as registration, issuance of residence permit);
- reception and accommodation available to beneficiaries of temporary protection;
- definitions of relevant rights under temporary protection (such as access to the labour market, medical care, education, social welfare, assistance to persons with special needs).
