The Institute of Migration Studies (IUEM) of the Universidad Pontificia Comillas, with the sponsorship of the Society of Jesus (Castilla Province) announces the XVI Santo Padre Rubio Award for the advancement in the knowledge of immigration.
The deadline for submission of works will begin on the date of publication of this call and end on the 1st December, 2014.
The total amount for the first prize is 2.100€ and for the second prize 900€.
Entries may be made in any language used in the context of the Spanish State.
Work that has already been published will not be taken into consideration.
The submission to the competition implies full acceptance by the bidder of all bases governing the competition.
No work will be accepted that do not meet the requirements listed in this announcement.
People interested in this award will be able to enter either individually or in teams, and it is open to both Spanish and foreigners. Belonging to an immigrant associations or NGOs involved with immigration issues will be positively regarded.
Entries may either be:
- Reports that account for empirical research on issues affecting immigration in Spain, detailing its objectives, methodology and results.
- Studies that analyze actions or interventions carried to term in favor of immigrants. These studies shall analyze what has been done, reasoning why the results were good or less good, opening the way to design better ways of intervention.
- Original research projects that open the way to further clarification of questions or problems relevant to immigration.
