Spain: The Department of Social Welfare (Valencia) will allocate 1.5 million for immigrant integration projects

Title

The Department of Social Welfare of the Autonomous Community of Valencia will allocate this year nearly 1.5 million to private non-profit organizations for projects aimed at the social integration of immigrants.

The projects submitted to this call for grants must be involved in the following activities: comprehensive welcome (including room and board), initial reception and support, employment and intercultural mediation.

It will also include social intervention programs through systems of networks or voluntary return for immigrants in vulnerable situations or at risk of social exclusion.

The purpose of these grants is to facilitate the full social integration of immigrants in Valencia and to achieve their integration into the cultural, labor, institutional and political development of civil society to contribute to the eradication all kinds of racism or xenophobia.

The Generalitat has a network of 114 agencies (called AMICS) throughout Valencia, of which 35 are in the province of Castellón, 49 in the province of Valencia and 30 in the province of Alicante.

This network covers more than 90% of immigrants and foreign residents, and is a complement to the services that the Generalitat offers immigrants in their integration process.
