In order to reach a wider audience and facilitate understanding of Portuguese legislation on international migration, the Ministry of the Presidency published translations of important laws in English online. Legislation concerning those fleeing Ukraine and arriving in Portugal has additionally been translated into Ukrainian.

Legislation newly translated into both languages includes a resolution of the Council of Ministers of March 2022 that sets out specific criteria for granting temporary protection to persons displaced from Ukraine, and a law of August 2003 on minimum standards for granting temporary protection in the event of a mass influx of displaced persons.

Legislation newly translated into English includes the law approving the legal regime for the entry, stay, exit and removal of foreign nationals from the country, and the law establishing the legal framework for preventing, prohibiting and combatting discrimination on the grounds of racial and ethnic origin, skin colour, nationality, descent and territory of origin.
