Poland will take a total of 2,000 refugees. They will be arriving gradually, in small groups of up to 150 persons so as to facilitate their adaptation to the new environment and their integration within the Polish society.
What assistance will be offered to the refugees hosted in Poland?
- The refugees who will receive protection in our country will be directed to open centres of the Office for Foreigners. There are currently 12 centres run by the Office in Poland;
- They will be provided with medical care and language and information courses, facilitating their adaptation;
- Children and youngsters will go to school.
The involvement of NGOs both at the stage of preparation and implementation of the vital integration programme is planned.
The provision of shelter to the refugees in Poland will be funded by the EU and the latter will reimburse Poland €10,000 per refugee taken from the Middle East.
