Poland: 'Here we live' - a series of meetings with foreigners living in Poland

Untitled

Instytut Reporta|u and Faktyczny Dom Kultury have started a new project titled 'Here we live' [Tu mieszkamy] - a series of 23 meetings with foreign men and foreign women from outside the European Union, living in Poland. Each of the meetings will be lead by a reporter specialising in a particular country of origin.

Foreigners will talk about their country of origin and culture, reasons for coming to Poland and about life with and among Poles. They will be asked to present a book, a movie, photos or to conduct workshops (e.g. culinary workshops) which will introduce us to their countries of origin.

Moreover, intercultural workshops will be organised for them. They will have the opportunity to share their experience of living in Poland but also to learn about each other's culture and customs, mechanisms of the formation of stereotypes and a danger of using their own values to assess different cultures.

So far, two meetings were held: 'Here we live: I'm from Ukraine' (4.04) and 'Here we live: I'm from Russia' (9.04).
