Poland: € 454,952 to be spent on the integration of relocated asylum seekers in 2016

Title

According to the draft Regulation of the Minister of Interior and Administration on the relocation of foreigners in 2016, Poland will accept up to 400 asylum seekers from Greece and Italy this year. The total cost of relocating 400 foreigners is estimated at 10,507,000 PLN (approx. 2,478,066 EUR), including the cost of integration – 1,929,000 PLN (approx. 454,952 EUR). The integration cost comprises financial benefits paid to foreigners taking part in Individual Integration Programmes, health insurance, family benefits, housing allowances, as well as social security benefits granted within the framework of family reunification and the necessity to secure access to housing.

Part of the expenses will be refunded by the European Commission. A subsidy of 6,000 EUR per relocated foreigner will be paid from the Asylum, Migration and Integration Fund (AMIF).
