The Share Network’s Quality Sponsorship Network (QSN), in collaboration with Citizens UK, launched a free online training portal which shares resources and lessons learned on the community sponsorship of refugees from across Europe (Belgium, France, Germany, Ireland, Italy, Spain and the UK) and Canada.
The portal also provides case studies and examples of best practices in refugee sponsorship, and will be regularly updated with new and relevant material. It is a useful, practical tool for volunteers working directly with sponsored newcomers, local/regional authorities, and organisations that support the implementation of community sponsorship programmes in different countries.
Established in 2012 by ICMC Europe, the Share Network seeks to foster the creation of safe pathways and improve the welcome and inclusion of newcomers in Europe. Share provides a platform for exchange and mutual learning for diverse stakeholders working in the field of welcome and integration at local, national and European level. The QSN supports pilot and ad-hoc sponsorship initiatives to develop into sustainable, community-driven programmes, using a multi-stakeholder, grassroots and bottom-up strategy fostering refugee participation.
