Netherlands: Funding for projects promoting (newcomer) participation and social cohesion

Flag of Netherlands

The VSBfonds supports socially beneficial projects aimed at ensuring that everyone can participate actively in society, and that no-one has been left behind. Active participation means that individuals are part of a greater social whole; that they feel they have a place, are recognised, are supported in their self-development and can make a contribution to society.

Eligible projects for this funding include those that focus on promoting the active citizenship of existing citizens and newcomers, including third-country nationals.

Projects will work to ensure that people can (continue to) shape their own lives, and that social groups that usually do not mix are able to meet and engage with each other, building strong networks and neighbourhoods with a sense of togetherness and solidarity. Among others, specified funding areas include 'removing prejudice', 'meeting places: village or community centres', 'getting to know others' and 'building a better community together'.

Further information on this funding can be found online here.
