Latvia: New website on the rights and opportunities for third country nationals

Untitled

A website on the rights and opportunities for third country nationals in Latvia has been published. Information on 15 most significant needs of migrants in Latvia is divided according to the reason why the person has acquired a residence permit in the country – studies and internship, employment, family reunification and entrepreneurship. The website includes information on issues like residence permits, employment, language courses, social protection, health care, education, transport, housing and participation. The questions covered in the website were identified in interviews with third country nationals living in Latvia.

Most of the material is currently available in Latvian, but information on residence permits, education, employment, participation, language, health care, as well as emergency contacts are also translated in Russian and English.

The website www.dzivotlatvija.lv was made by the Centre for Public Policy PROVIDUS. It is part of a project “Diverse Solutions for Public Education and Integration” that is co-financed by the European Fund for the Integration of Third-Country Nationals (75%) and the Latvian state budget (25%).

To read more about project activities (in English) please go to the website of the “Shelter “Safe House””.
